Dear sailors and coaches, The Real Club Náutico de Gran Canaria has already started organising its international winter regattas for the 2019/20 season. Dates have been set for the well-established Semana Olímpica Canaria de Vela, Trofeo Internacional AECIO and Regata de Carnaval.. Top sailors from Europe and other continents are expected at these events, where Olympic and national teams take advantage of Gran Canaria’s great weather to continue training in winter. The best recommendation for these events is the dozens of top figures in international sailing who return to Las Palmas de Gran Canaria for the winter season year after year to train and compete. The local winter’s more like spring at other latitudes, although the plentiful daylight hours and variety of race course winds aren’t the only attractions of the season at the Real Club Náutico de Gran Canaria. Our sailing club has a history going back more than 100 years and our list of victories in dinghy sailing is legendary. We have excellent facilities for receiving visitors and extensive experience in organising international and European competitions in various classes since the 1960s. Las Palmas de Gran Canaria is a cosmopolitan city that knows how to treat its visitors. Beautiful scenery, infrastructure and services expected of a modern capital city, and an exceptional climate make the perfect combination for training in the best conditions. In December 2013 alone, 18 countries sent their national or Olympic teams to our city. Some of the countries that regularly send their sailors to Las Palmas de Gran Canaria include Lithuania, Finland, Estonia, Russia, Sweden, Italy, Portugal, Norway, Denmark, Germany, Poland, Iceland, Canada, Turkey, the United Kingdom, Holland, Slovenia, Hungary, Ireland, China (Hong Kong) and Peru. Sincerely. Nautical Commission Real Club Náutico de Gran Canaria — We invite you to learn more about our events: 1. Visit: SEMANA OLÍMPICA CANARIA DE VELA. 2. Visit: TROFEO INTERNACIONAL AECIO. 3.
